Microsoft Outlook 2010

Hello Blog Readers!

The creative folks in the Office Design Group have provided us a refreshing new “2010” look for our blog masthead. The new look mirrors that of some of the other Office team blogs and we think the new year is the perfect time to put it on display. Let us know what you think!

Nice - the orange font could be a little bit darker for my taste, to be better readable.

Nothing serious, it works like it is.

What's up with the funky symbols replacing the apostrophes in the blog text?

Can someone contact me via email. I installed outlook 2010 beta and tried to setup exchange. Did not work and now when I boot it up it tries to go to the exchange and dies. Uninstall and reinstall three times and have deleted directories I can find but nothing helps. Thanks - I know this is not 2010 support - its beta but thought I would try.

Outlook allows the user to create his or her own folders under Personal Folders. We already have Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items and Deleted Items, among others. All of these folders and the ones the user creates have a default format: as to fields, font, etc. I don't really like the default format, so I change the fields, the font, and several other items. Why can't I make a template of the format I like so, every time I make a new folder, it has the format I like. If I can do that in Microsoft Word to create a form letter, why can't I do it in Outlook to create a standard folder format?

It's a good look. I agree with another commenter that the font might be a tad too bright, but maybe it's just my monitor.

@Mr. Peabody – I’m not seeing any funky symbols. What browser are you using? Is your default language English? Please let us know if you experience any issues.

@Cleveland – I’m sorry you’re having problems with the Beta. Unfortunately, we cannot provide technical support via the blog. You might check http://officebeta.microsoft.com and see if there is any more information there.

@Peter Wanger – In Outlook 2010 we’ve made it simple to apply your custom views to different folders. If you are running the Beta, on the view tab, just click “Change View” and select the option to “Apply current view to other mail folders.” I hope that helps!
